Crouton is a 1 year old red Holstein bull. His original owners raised him from 2 days old and had plans to butcher him when he got older. He lived in a small backyard with goats as his companions. Luckily for Crouton, the family's residence was not zoned for livestock and the family was ordered to remove him immediately.

We discovered Crouton's story on a Craigslist AD and jumped at the chance to rescue him. Mason, our original Holstein steer had just passed away a few days before and we were so heartbroken over the loss. Mason loved all sorts of bread. Because of his gigantic size, we would often say that entire loaves of bread were just actually "croutons" to Mason. So in Mason's memory, we named our newest Holstein - Crouton.
