Swiney Todd
POT-BELLIED PIG
Meet Swiney Todd, our resilient potbelly pig with a heartwarming story of companionship and survival. Todd endured over a year without the company of another pig, a challenging and lonely existence for such a social animal.
Rescued by his previous owner from a garage sale, it became evident that Todd's need for piggy companionship was not being met. That's when he came to our sanctuary, where we introduced him to QT Pie, another pig in need of a friend. The result? An instant bond, and the two became inseparable buddies.
Not only is Swiney Todd a testament to the importance of pig companionship, but he also became a loving father to a litter of piglets - Sweetie, Pudding, Pumpkin, and Potato - born to him and QT Pie.
But Swiney Todd's journey took a dramatic turn during the LNU fire's devastation. Todd was one of the animals that went missing after we evacuated from the fire. In scorching heat and dire circumstances, after 5 days of searching, our 14 year old volunteer, Carson located him. This 180-pound piggy had wandered to the brink of survival but found his way back to our sanctuary.
Swiney Todd's remarkable resilience and the love that surrounds him exemplify the heartwarming stories that make our sanctuary a special place.
