Baahnana

BABYDOLL SHEEP

  • From: San Diego area

  • Adopted: 2018

Meet Baahnana, our charming babydoll sheep with a unique tale of resilience. Baahnana's journey began in 2018 when we welcomed him as a young lamb from a sheep farming operation closing down in the San Diego area. His name is a testament to his love for bananas, which quickly endeared him to us.

In his early days, Baahnana lived up to his mischievous reputation. He once indulged in a substantial amount of cooked rice, a decision that nearly cost him his life as he battled rumen acidosis. Thanks to the dedicated team at UC Davis, he pulled through, proving his tenacity.

Just a few months later, Baahnana faced another life-threatening challenge, likely an encounter with coyotes. The attack left him with severe bite wounds, including the loss of his right ear, which had to be amputated. His journey is a testament to his fighting spirit.

Due to the loss of his right ear, Baahnana requires special care to prevent ear infections, and our dedicated volunteer team ensures he gets the attention he needs. Despite the odds, Baahnana continues to inspire us with his resilience and unwavering spirit.
