Maggie
CAT
Way back in 2012, shortly after we moved out to the countryside, we adopted a tortoiseshell cat. I was looking specifically for a barn cat to help control the rodents around our new home.
We adopted from a veterinarian who had rescued dozens of cats on her own time. I intended to get a large orange tabby but he sounded like he had an upper respiratory issue and he definitely did not want to go into my crate.
But instead, much to my surprise, a cute and petite tortie cat walked right into the open crate. I was in a room filled with feral/skittish cats that were more suitable to be barn cats. But here this cat just walked into my crate!
I named her Maggie. And she was the worst barn cat. 🤣 She soon figured out how to get inside the house via the second story slider door and she made herself an indoor cat.
