Molly
LLAMA
In November 2018, the small town of Paradise in Northern California was destroyed by a fast moving wildfire. Miraculously, two llamas survived the fire. Their owner's home burned down, but they kept returning to the once green and lush pasture. For 8 months, the two girls survived on their own. They ate what ever little vegetation had grown back. Luckily, their home had a stream that ran through the property.
By June 2019, the locals noticed the two loose llamas. The llamas had not been shorn in years and the summer heat of over 100 degree temperatures alarmed the locals.
We saw a FB post about the llamas and had our llama expert leave her contact information with animal control. We then got permission from AC to rescue the llamas.
On July 7, 2019 we traveled 2.5 hours to Paradise, CA to rescue the two llamas. Joy and Ron brought along their trailer and with their expertise, we were able to capture the llamas. Big thanks to the Butte County Animal Control and the Paradise Police Department for assisting us in the rescue. We named the llamas, Cassidy and Molly (this one) after the two female officers who responded to help us.
